 It looks like it may be Cllr Anthony "Millstone" Rowlands , the present SADC Leisure Portfolio holder looking for , amongst other things, 3 million quid for a Spa that won't pay for itself. It's all part of the poisoned chalice he received from his predecessor Cllr Sheila Burton the principle mastermind behind the present mess. No wonder both of them will be cringeing when they see what great value for money the Luton Aquatic Centre will be for the same amount of money -about £26 million.
Features of the new Luton facility, to open in July 2012, will include:
A 50m, eight lane Olympic pool with a world class diving facility and seating for 400 spectators. A 20m, five lane community pool with moveable floor. A large sports hall capable of hosting a wide range of sports. A 100-station state of the art gym. A dance studio, spinning room and multi-purpose activity room. A function room and café that is also available to park users. Congratulations Luton Borough Council .
A message to St.Albans District Council. You haven't signed the major contract so why not LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE , pause , then go back to the drawing board and GET IT RIGHT !
