PoolTooSmall Founder Ingrid Gilroy takes issue with Cllrs Donald and Rowlands. There was NO choice of Main Pool size in the 3 week "engineered consultation" of Summer 2009 .  She is pictured here on site recently not best pleased at the carnage of more than 30 perfectly healthy trees. The whole of her letter is reproduced here :-
SIR:-I read the joint letter from Cllrs Donald and Rowlands  in the Review on 23rd March 2011,under the heading “Most residents wants change”, with great interest.I am a resident of St.Albans and the only public consultation I remember was three weeks in August 2009.This was during the school summer holidays.
In that consultation we were NOT given a choice of size of main swimming pool in either of the 2 options available.
Option 1 was for a 25 metre x 8 lane pool with diving facilities etc.
Option 2 was for a 25 metre x 8 lane pool with no diving facilities or flumes but with a big gym, spa, sports hall, spinning studios etc
Where was the choice of main pool size in that consultation? There was none.
I recall that there was much criticism at the time about the choice or rather the lack of it, on offer!
Yours sincerely,
Ingrid Gilroy,  Park  Avenue ,St.Albans.
