Yet more embarassing questions for SADC to face tomorrow night Wednesday 24th November in the Council Chamber at 7pm as it is now revealed that Cabinet may have chosen the contractor McNamara Co without having seen all the relevant site archaeological reports! In a series of written questions for tomorrow night's meeting, Cllr Julian Daly , who is also Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny (Public Services) Committee asked:-
"The Cabinet meeting of 2 November makes reference to the archaeological evaluations made at the site of the proposed Westminster Lodge development.  The report on the work at trench 11 has yet to be made available to Councillors. Can the portfolio holder for Sport and Leisure confirm if Cabinet made its decision to award the construction contract to McNamara without reference to the absent report?
Can the portfolio holder for Sport and Leisure explain why the report was not available to Cabinet and had not been made available to Councillors at the date of this question?"
"The 2 November Cabinet report which resulted in the award of the tender to McNamara & Co makes much reference to that company's experience of Irish projects, but mentions no experience in the UK.  Can the portfolio holder for Sport and Leisure explain how Cabinet satisfied themselves that McNamara had appropriate UK experience and access to appropriate UK sub contractors for a contract as large as Westminster Lodge?"

PoolTooSmall comments:- The picture on the left was taken by the PoolTooSmall photographer  on site on 2nd July 2010 when Wessex Archaeology were digging the trenches. So FOUR MONTHS LATER  where's the report for Trench 11? We paid good money for it,didn't we ?

No excuses SADC. The dossier on your performance on this project is damning Do the only honourable and sensible thing - go back to the drawing board NOW and let's ALL pull together to GET IT RIGHT!
